Fashion Design and Fashion Communication

The School of Fashion invites applications for a tenure-track position, starting in August 2008. As Canada's oldest and largest baccalaureate degree (B. Des) in fashion we offer options in both Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. Our graduates are leaders in their field: from internationally renowned fashion designers to art directors to fashion illustrators and stylists, they set the highest standard in the industry.

Tenure-Track Position
Fashion Design and Fashion Communication

We are currently seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to add to our expertise in fashion illustration. The successful candidate will be an innovator in their field, with an extensive portfolio demonstrating a wide range of illustrative experience with particular emphasis on the human figure. Comfortable in both traditional, and digital/photo based illustration, this candidate will lead and develop courses in both fields. With substantial teaching experience at the post-secondary level, they will be as comfortable in the lecture hall as in the drawing studio. Context courses and a planned MA - fashion will draw on the candidate's ability to engage students to consider current illustrative practice from a theoretical and historical perspective.

As well, the candidate will have a proven record of creative work and research. This might include fashion illustration; published editorial and/or advertising illustration; scholarly articles in academic journals and fine art exhibited in established galleries.
